TalentQuest’s CTO Neil Kimber Named Fellow of the British Computer Society; Receives Highest Level of IT Recognition
Kimber’s award given to ‘the most respected professionals in the field of IT’ with ‘established reputation of eminence and authority.’
ATLANTA, March 3, 2010 - – Neil Kimber, Chief Technology Officer of human capital management and software solutions firm, TalentQuest, has received the distinction of Fellowship in the British Computer Society (BCS). This honor is the highest level of recognition in the IT field.
The BCS, established in 1957, serves over 70,000 members including practitioners, businesses, academics and students, across the UK and internationally. Its objective is to promote wider social and economic progress through the advancement of information technology, science, and practice, for the benefit of social practitioners and the general public.
The BCS is the only Chartered IT society in the UK, having a Royal Chartered Status. A Fellow is the highest professional status attainable within the BCS and comprises the most senior and well respected professionals in the field of IT. Only 3.5% of BCS members have received the Fellowship distinction. The selection criteria are rigorous and include specific standards around the applicant’s authority, seniority, autonomy, influence, complexity and business skills.
“Becoming a BCS Fellow is a pinnacle point in my IT career, and I am honored to be included with such a notable and accomplished group of peers,” said Kimber. “The BCS has given me exposure to the latest available technologies and theories that I can carry back to the great team here at TalentQuest.”
Since joining TalentQuest in 2006, Neil has served as Chief Technology Officer with full oversight for the development, enhancement, and maintenance of TalentQuest’s proprietary software solutions. He has successfully on-boarded all top-tier clients onto TQ systems and created a professional development program for the technical staff that has seen more than 75% of the TalentQuest staff gain professional certifications. Aside from his BCS distinction, he is also a Chartered Engineer (CEng), a Chartered IT Professional (CITP) and a senior member of the IEEE (SMIEE). Neil received his MBA in Management of Technology from GA Tech.
“Neil is continually elevating our IT systems and strategy to the next level and keeping TalentQuest on top of the newest best practices,” stated Dr. Frank Merritt, CEO of TalentQuest. “This honor comes as no surprise as Neil has a passion for developing and coaching his team, challenging himself, and communicating technical complexities in a way that makes business sense and adds solid value.”
